The Demon Box
— Ships spring 2025 —
The Demon Box uses a unique proprietary system to turn electromagnetic fields (EMF) into sound. From cell phones to tuning forks, hairdryers to drills, this pioneering instrument can make music from anything with an EMF frequency.
By harnessing the untapped potential of the EMF all around us, The Demon Box is accessible to new creators and seasoned musicians alike.
More info and specs below.
The Demon Box offers a variety of features that make it a versatile and powerful companion to users of any background.
EMF is captured through the 33 inductors on the Box’s surface, where it is directed into three channels. Along its side, three knobs and a 4-position switch easily control and manipulate these channels. Audio inputs can also easily be integrated into these existing channels according to the user’s preferences.
The outgoing signal is directed through a variety of outputs. Four ¼” output jacks offer outgoing audio for a wide range of mixing options: a mono output for each of the three inductor channels plus a combined stereo image. Simultaneously, there are three CV outputs (one for each inductor channel) that can be used to drive Eurorack modules, as well as MIDI output through the USB-C port and 5-pin DIN port. The MIDI information has a wide range of potential applications—it can be routed into software to manipulate audio or video environments or translated into the DMX protocol to control stage lighting—all while being reactive to the incoming signal. The Demon Box is powered through the USB-C data port. 5V Voltage.
